- Kapitel 48 -

1
“Now these are the names of the tribes: At the northern frontier, Dan will have one portion bordering the road of Hethlon to Lebo-hamath and running on to Hazar-enan on the border of Damascus with Hamath to the north, and extending from the east side to the west side.

Asher will have one portion bordering the territory of Dan from east to west.

Naphtali will have one portion bordering the territory of Asher from east to west.

Manasseh will have one portion bordering the territory of Naphtali from east to west.

Ephraim will have one portion bordering the territory of Manasseh from east to west.
6
Reuben will have one portion bordering the territory of Ephraim from east to west.

Judah will have one portion bordering the territory of Reuben from east to west.

The Portions for the Priests and Levites

Bordering the territory of Judah, from east to west, will be the portion you are to set apart. It will be 25,000 cubits wide,(a) and the length of a tribal portion from east to west. In the center will be the sanctuary.

The special portion you set apart to the LORD shall be 25,000 cubits long and 10,000 cubits wide.(b)

This will be the holy portion for the priests. It will be 25,000 cubits long on the north side, 10,000 cubits wide on the west side, 10,000 cubits wide on the east side, and 25,000 cubits long on the south side. In the center will be the sanctuary of the LORD.

It will be for the consecrated priests, the descendants of Zadok, who kept My charge and did not go astray as the Levites did when the Israelites went astray.

It will be a special portion for them set apart from the land, a most holy portion (c) adjacent to the territory of the Levites.

Bordering the territory of the priests, the Levites shall have an area 25,000 cubits long and 10,000 cubits wide. The whole length will be 25,000 cubits, and the width 10,000 cubits.

They must not sell or exchange any of it, and they must not transfer this best part of the land, for it is holy to the LORD.

The Common Portion

The remaining area, 5,000 cubits (d) wide and 25,000 cubits long, will be for common use by the city, for houses, and for pastureland. The city will be in the center of it

and will have these measurements: 4,500 cubits (e) on the north side, 4,500 cubits on the south side, 4,500 cubits on the east side, and 4,500 cubits on the west side.

The pastureland of the city will extend 250 cubits (f) to the north, 250 cubits to the south, 250 cubits to the east, and 250 cubits to the west.

The remainder of the length bordering the holy portion and running adjacent to it will be 10,000 cubits on the east side and 10,000 cubits on the west side. Its produce will supply food for the workers of the city.

The workers of the city who cultivate it will come from all the tribes of Israel.

The entire portion will be a square, 25,000 cubits by 25,000 cubits. You are to set apart the holy portion, along with the city property.

The Portion for the Prince

The remaining area on both sides of the holy portion and of the property of the city will belong to the prince. He will own the land adjacent to the tribal portions, extending eastward from the 25,000 cubits of the holy district toward the eastern border, and westward from the 25,000 cubits to the western border. And in the center of them will be the holy portion and the sanctuary of the temple.

So the Levitical property and the city property will lie in the center of the area belonging to the prince—the area between the borders of Judah and Benjamin.

The Portions for the Remaining Tribes

As for the rest of the tribes: Benjamin will have one portion extending from the east side to the west side.

Simeon will have one portion bordering the territory of Benjamin from east to west.

Issachar will have one portion bordering the territory of Simeon from east to west.

Zebulun will have one portion bordering the territory of Issachar from east to west.

And Gad will have one portion bordering the territory of Zebulun from east to west.
28
The southern border of Gad will run from Tamar to the waters of Meribath-kadesh, then along the Brook of Egypt (g) and out to the Great Sea.(h)

This is the land you are to allot as an inheritance to the tribes of Israel, and these will be their portions,” declares the Lord GOD.

The City Gates and Dimensions

“These will be the exits of the city: Beginning on the north side, which will be 4,500 cubits long,

the gates of the city will be named after the tribes of Israel. On the north side there will be three gates: the gate of Reuben, the gate of Judah, and the gate of Levi.

On the east side, which will be 4,500 cubits long, there will be three gates: the gate of Joseph, the gate of Benjamin, and the gate of Dan.

On the south side, which will be 4,500 cubits long, there will be three gates: the gate of Simeon, the gate of Issachar, and the gate of Zebulun.

And on the west side, which will be 4,500 cubits long, there will be three gates: the gate of Gad, the gate of Asher, and the gate of Naphtali.

The perimeter of the city will be 18,000 cubits,(i) and from that day on the name of the city will be: THE LORD IS THERE.(j)”

Die Teilung des Landes

Dies sind die Namen der Stämme. An der Nordseite, an der Straße von Hethalon nach Emath hin, der Hof Enan, an der Grenze von Damaskus nach Norden hin an der Straße von Emath. Dies gehöre ihm von der Ostseite bis zum Meere: Anteil Dans.

An der Grenze von Dan von der Ostseite bis an das Meer: Aser einen Anteil.

An der Grenze Asers von der Ostseite bis an die Meerseite: Nephthali einen Anteil.

An der Grenze Nephthalis von der Ostseite bis an die Meerseite: Manasse einen Anteil.

An der Grenze Manasses von der Ostseite bis an die Meerseite: Ephraim einen Anteil.

An der Grenze Ephraims von der Ostseite bis an die Meerseite: Ruben einen Anteil.

An der Grenze Rubens von der Ostseite bis an die Meerseite: Juda einen Anteil.

An der Grenze Judas von der Ostseite bis an die Meerseite sollt ihr die Erstlingsplätze absondern, fünfundzwanzigtausend in der Breite und ebenso viel in der Länge, von der Ostseite bis an die Meerseite, wie alle andern Anteile, und mitten darin soll das Heiligtum liegen.

Die Erstlingsteile, welche ihr für den Herrn absondern werdet, sollen fünfundzwanzigtausend lang und zehntausend breit sein.

Von diesen Erstlingsteilen sollen für das Heiligtum der Priester gehören: Gegen Mitternacht fünfundzwanzigtausend in der Länge, gegen Abend zehntausend in der Breite, gegen Morgen zehntausend in der Breite, und gegen Mittag fünfundzwanzigtausend in der Länge, mitten darin soll das Heiligtum des Herrn liegen.

Den Priestern, den Söhnen Sadoks, die meine Vorschriften beobachtet haben und nicht abirrten, als die Söhne Israel abirrten, wie auch die Leviten irre gingen, gehöre das geheiligte.

Ihnen also soll der Erstlingsteil des Landes, das Hochheilige, gehören an der Grenze der Leviten.

Die Leviten aber sollen an der Grenze der Priester herlaufend fünfundzwanzigtausend Ellen in der Länge, und zehntausend in der Breite erhalten. Im Ganzen soll die Länge fünfundzwanzigtausend und die Breite zehntausend betragen.

Davon sollen sie nichts verkaufen noch vertauschen noch sollen die Erstlingsteile des Landes an andere übergehen, denn sie sind dem Herrn geheiligt.

Die fünftausend aber, welche von der Breite der fünfundzwanzigtausend noch übrig sind, sollen nicht geheiligt sein, sondern zu Wohnungen und Weideplätzen deinen und die Stadt selbst soll mitten darin liegen.

Dies soll ihr Maß sein: Auf der Nordseite viertausend und fünfhundert, auf der Südseite viertausend und fünfhundert, auf der Ostseite viertausend und fünfhundert und auf der Westseite viertausend und fünfhundert.

Als Weideplätze aber sollen der Stadt gehören: Gegen Norden zweihundert und fünfzig, gegen Süden zweihundert und fünfzig, gegen Osten zweihundert und fünfzig, gegen das Meer zu zweihundert und fünfzig.

Was in der Länge neben dem Erstlingsanteile für das Heiligtum übrig ist, zehntausend gegen Osten und zehntausend gegen Westen, soll wie der Erstlingsanteil des Heiligtums sein und der Ertrag desselben zu Unterhalt derer gehören, welche der Stadt dienen.

Die aber für die Stadt tätig zu sein haben, sollen aus allen Stämmen Israels genommen werden.

Alle Erstlingsanteile also zusammen, fünfundzwanzigtausend auf fünfundzwanzigtausend ins Geviert, sollen als Erstlingsanteil für das Heiligtum abgesondert werden und als Eigentum für die Stadt.

Was aber noch übrig ist auf beiden Seiten neben dem Erstlingsanteil des Heiligtums und neben dem Besitze der Stadt gegenüber den fünfundzwanzigtausend der Erstlingsanteile bis zur Ostgrenze und gegen das Meer hin vor den fünfundzwanzigtausend Ellen bis zur Grenze dem Meere zu, dies soll den Fürsten gehören; die Erstlingsanteile für das Heiligtum und das Heiligtum des Tempels sollen mitten darin sein.

Und was vom Besitze der Leviten und dem Besitztum der Stadt zwischen den Anteilen übrigbleibt, soll dem Fürsten gehören; zwischen den Grenzen Judas und Benjamins soll es dem Fürsten gehören.

Hierauf kommen die übrigen Stämme: Von Morgen gegen Abend: Benjamin einen Anteil.

Von Benjamins Grenze von Osten gegen Westen: Simeon einen.

An Simeons Grenze von Osten gegen Westen: Issachar einen.

An Issachars Grenze von Osten gegen Westen: Zabulon einen.

An Zabulons Grenze von Osten gegen Westen: Gad einen.
28
An Gads Grenze auf der Südseite gegen Mittag hin sei die Grenze von Thamar bis zum Haderwasser von Kades als Erbteil gegen das große Meer hin.

Dies ist das Land, welches ihr durch das Los unter die Stämme Israels verteilen sollt, und dies sollen ihre Erbteile sein, spricht der Herr, Gott.

Die Tore der Stadt und ihr Name

Und dies seien die Ausgänge der Stadt: Auf der Seite gegen Mitternacht miss viertausend fünfhundert.

Und die Tore der Stadt sollen die Namen der Stämme Israels führen. Gegen Mitternacht sollen drei Tore sein: Rubens Tor, eines; Judas Tor, eines; Levis Tor, eines.

An der Seite gegen Morgen seien wieder viertausend fünfhundert, und drei Tore: Josephs Tor, eines; Benjamins Tor, eines; Dans Tor, eines.
33
An der Seite gegen Mittag miss auch viertausend fünfhundert, und drei Tore seien: Simeons Tor, eines; Issachars Tor, eines; Zabulons Tor, eines.
34
An der Seite gegen Abend viertausend fünfhundert, und daselbst drei Tore: Gads Tor, eines; Asers Tor, eines; Nephthalis Tor, eines.
35
Ringsum achtzehntausend, und der Name der Stadt sei von jenem Tage an: Der Herr ist daselbst.
